Shivani has over a decade of experience in advising and representing a diverse range of clients on the entire gamut of dispute resolution including criminal litigation and internal investigations, civil and commercial litigation, arbitration and constitutional matters. She has handled several high-profile matters pertaining to insolvency and bankruptcy, economic offences including corruption and bribery, sexual harassment, women and children’s rights etc. She is passionate about pro bono litigation and endeavours to devote time to several legal aid initiatives taken by the State. She specialises in ADR, white collar crimes, bribes, kickbacks, cybercrime and regularly advises on pre-litigation strategy, arrest and pre-arrest strategies and is adept at drafting and appearing before the various courts and tribunals.
Shivani regularly appears before the Supreme Court, various High Courts, Trial Courts, NCLT, NCLAT, and other tribunals.
Shivani currently serves as the Secretary and Website Officer of the Family Law Committee of International Bar Association (IBA). She also serves on the Executive Committee of the Oxford Cambridge Society of India.
Prior to founding S&LL, Shivani was an independent counsel and worked with prominent senior counsels. Shivani read the law from Amity Law School, Delhi (GGSIP University), and obtained an LL.M. degree from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, followed by an M. Phil. in Criminology from the University of Cambridge. In 2016, she was enrolled as an Attorney at Law, State of New York and has advised various individuals / entities overseas in matters involving India and other markets.

Represented the National Commission for Women in a matter involving the interpretation of the POCSO Act, 2012, where the Bombay High Court had held that "skin-to skin" contact is essential for a sexual assault offence under the POCSO Act.

Represented a Dubai-based businessman before the Indian courts from criminal investigation and prosecution in a matter relating to bribery and corruption.

Represented the Government of the State of Haryana in multiple commercial arbitrations before ad hoc tribunals.

Represented an Indian Company in an institutional arbitration pertaining to a dispute with a Chinese Company.

Representing a prominent public figure accused of an alleged act of sexual harassment at workplace before the Sessions Court and the Delhi High Court.

Representing various prominent Companies and HNI’s in criminal and commercial disputes, including matters involving warrants, pre-litigation strategies, commercial suits and insolvency proceedings before various Courts and tribunals.

Represented the State of Haryana before the Supreme Court in a matter relating to honour killing.

Represented the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change before the National Green Tribunal in a matter involving the effectiveness of the Environment Impact Assessment.

Representing NCW in a petition before the Supreme Court of India for enforcement of fundamental rights of minor Muslim women seeking uniform application of penal laws to Muslim women, who contract marriage before attaining the age of majority irrespective of what is professed in personal laws.
